Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Housing Services Team Leader who will oversee the management of our General Needs and Independent Living properties. You will provide technical and professional expertise and advice to internal and external customers. You will be expected to give support to our front-line teams, and work closely with our senior leaders to deliver great services across the organisation. This role is pivotal to our success in delivering excellent housing services to those in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operational delivery of a high quality and customer focused tenancy, voids, lettings, neighbourhood and Anti Social Behaviour (ASB) service across mixed tenure housing stock. This includes direct management and accountability for a small stock of leasehold properties.
  • Develop and maintain a high performance and positive operational staff culture by providing excellent line management to Housing Officers and the Independent Living Housing Officers, driven by commitment to excellent customer services.
  • Ensure all housing stock is Health and Safety compliant through effective monitoring and implementation of robust inspection regimes and controls.
  • To work flexibly across all services, including covering other functional services as required contributing to the removal of silos within the department.
  • Identify and report any safeguarding issues in line with our Safeguarding policies.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience of managing a front-line housing team in a housing association or local authority.
  • Demonstrable experience and working knowledge of managing a portfolio of leasehold/shared ownership properties, including Section 20 consultations and processes, lease enforcement, etc.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • A commitment to making a positive impact on the community.
