We are seeking a talented and passionate Youth Officer to join our dynamic team in our new branch. As a Youth Officer, you will lead and inspire our young people in faith and service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to nurture spiritual growth, encourage leadership, and strengthen youth engagement within the church community.

Responsibilities

  • Organise social, recreational and educational activities in local church and youth groups.
  • Undertake the day-to-day running of church centres and supervise the activities of part-time and voluntary workers.
  • Liaise and support voluntary workers running groups in village halls, churches, and other places of worship.
  • Advise individuals with particular needs or problems through informal discussion, individual counselling or formal group discussion.
  • Help set up credit unions, encourage parents to establish playgroups, work with other groups to find solutions to shared concerns or problems.

Qualifications

  • Strong Christian Faith and Character – Must be an active, committed member of a Christian community with a sound understanding of biblical principles and moral integrity.
  • Experience in Youth Ministry or Mentorship – Proven experience in leading, mentoring, or working with young people within a church, school, or community setting.
  • Educational Background – A minimum of a diploma or degree in Theology, Christian Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience in youth leadership).
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills – Ability to connect with young people, parents, and church leadership, fostering open dialogue and trust.
  • Leadership and Organizational Ability – Demonstrated capacity to plan programs, organize events, manage volunteers, and inspire youth participation in church and community activities.
