Christchurch Girls’ High School | Te Kura o Hine Waiora is seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Boarding to lead our prestigious boarding house, Acland House. This leadership role, positioned at Assistant Principal level, offers the opportunity to shape an exceptional boarding and educational experience for young women within a highly regarded school community, whilst maintaining the opportunity to teach for suitable candidates.
The Director of Boarding provides strategic, pastoral and operational leadership of the boarding environment, ensuring the wellbeing, safety and development of both boarders and boarding staff. Working closely with the Principal, Senior Leadership Team and Board, you will ensure strong integration between boarding life and the wider school, aligned with our vision of empowering and inspiring ākonga to flourish.
This dynamic, people-centred role includes:
- Leadership of a committed boarding team
- Active involvement with ākonga and their welfare
- Strong engagement with whānau
- Oversight of boarding activities and traditions
- Responsibility for key operational areas including staffing, finance, property, health and safety, and compliance
The role also provides some opportunity for teaching. Please state curriculum expertise. The role requires flexibility, including some evening, weekend and occasional overnight duties. This is a live onsite full-time salaried position, 52 weeks per year.
