The Barista supports the effective day-to-day operation of the Christchurch Adventure Park café by preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages, delivering efficient, friendly, and professional service to guests, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety, and contributing positively to a team-focused, fast-paced hospitality environment. The role plays a key part in delivering Christchurch Adventure Park’s commitment to exceptional visitor experiences, teamwork, and operational excellence within a unique outdoor adventure setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and hot and cold beverages in line with café standards.
- Provide consistently professional, friendly, and welcoming customer service.
- Engage positively with guests, contributing to a relaxed, inclusive, and enjoyable café environment.
- Operate coffee machines, grinders, and related equipment safely and correctly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station, service areas, and equipment.
- Support efficient café operations during peak periods, including clearing tables and delivering food and beverages as required.
- Assist kitchen and front-of-house teams as needed, adapting to different tasks during service.
- Maintain an exceptionally high standard of food hygiene and personal cleanliness.
- Comply with all food safety, health and safety, and organisational policies and procedures.
- Work safely in a physically active environment, including extended periods on feet and repetitive tasks.
- Undertake other duties as required to support café operations.
