We are seeking a proactive and reliable Premises Officer to help maintain a safe, secure, and well-presented school environment across our academies. Working as part of the Trust Estates Team, you will undertake a variety of site management duties including routine inspections, minor repairs, maintenance tasks, health and safety compliance checks, contractor supervision, and site security. You will play a key role in ensuring that school buildings and grounds are operated effectively, supporting the day-to-day running of the academy and contributing to the delivery of the Trust's estates strategy.
Your responsibilities include:
- Conducting regular premises inspections, identifying and reporting defects.
- Carrying out minor maintenance works.
- Maintaining compliance records.
- Supporting emergency and contingency arrangements.
- Helping ensure statutory requirements are met.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with practical maintenance experience, strong health and safety awareness, and a commitment to providing high-quality facilities that support teaching and learning. The role requires flexibility to work across multiple school sites and participation in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Taking day-to-day responsibility for the provision of efficient and effective caretaking support to the school, including ensuring that the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in accordance with the required standards set by the school, and that heating systems operate at optimum efficiency.
- Carrying out day-to-day repairs, checks, and upkeep of buildings and grounds.
- Ensuring safe practices, completing inspections, and reporting hazards or risks.
- Assisting with managing premises, contractors, and estate documentation.
- Monitoring building operations, identifying efficiencies, and promoting sustainable practices.
- Working within set procedures, elevating concerns, and undertaking additional duties as required.
