Description of Job
We are excited to offer this role, where you will split your time 50/50 between Christ Church (CCS) and the Southport and Areas Schools Workers Trust (SASWT, www.saswtrust.com).
At Christ Church, we aim to ensure every young person in Southport has the opportunity to meet with the God who can change their lives. Our target is to connect 200 young people (0-18s) to Christ Church by 2028. Currently, around 70 are connected, with roughly ten aged 11-16 attending on Sundays (plus a few aged 16-18), and about thirty attending our Friday Night Youth. This work is supported by a team of approximately 15 volunteers.
The Southport and Area Schools Workers Trust is a charity established in 1999, engaging with children and young people across over 20 primary and secondary schools in the area. Its mission is to create safe spaces to explore life and faith issues through activities like assemblies, RE & PSHE lessons, after-school clubs, lunchtime safe spaces, and more.
CCS is a founding supporter of SASWT, both sharing the vision of helping young people explore faith and meet Jesus. This role enables you to do that within a school setting, based at the church. We seek someone passionate about engaging with young people, with the right skills and personality, to work in schools and at Christ Church. Experience is not essential; passion for seeing young people encounter Jesus is key. You will join a small, dedicated team committed to working hard, having fun, encouraging each other, and trusting God.
This position comprises two permanent contracts of 18.75 hours each (one with each organization), totaling a full-time 37.5-hour week.
Application deadline: 6th July 2025
Provisional interview date: 18th July 2025
Christ Church is a vibrant community with a big vision: to give everyone in Southport multiple opportunities to encounter Jesus. Our five core values are: Jesus following, relational, kind, creative, and courageous. While we don’t always get everything perfect, these principles guide us as a community.
