Overall Purpose: To pioneer, plant, and establish a vibrant, sustainable, and doctrinally sound Christ Apostolic Church assembly in Manchester and Wrexham. The pastors will evangelize, disciple new believers, and build a multicultural congregation that reflects the city's diversity, deeply rooted in the teachings, prayer, and holiness traditions of the Christ Apostolic Church.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Spiritual Leadership & Discipleship: Prepare and deliver sound, anointed biblical sermons and teachings that align with Christ Apostolic Church's doctrine (Apostolic Faith). Conduct regular prayer meetings, Bible studies, and fellowship gatherings, emphasizing the power of prayer, naming ceremony and visits to the bereaved families as per Christ Apostolic Church doctrines. Provide pastoral care, counselling, and spiritual oversight to new members and seekers. Lead worship services that reflect Christ Apostolic Church mission/vision. Administer the sacraments (Holy Communion, Baptism by immersion).
- Evangelism & Outreach: Develop and execute a strategic church-planting plan for Bilston. Proactively engage in personal and organized evangelism within the diverse communities of their environment (for students, professionals, and families). Build relationships with the local community, identifying needs and demonstrating Christ's love through practical outreach. Utilize digital platforms (social media, streaming) to reach a wider audience in the tech-savvy city.
- Administration & Development: Secure and manage a suitable venue for worship and activities. Establish church governance and structures in accordance with Christ Apostolic Church, UK byelaws. Mobilize, train, and develop a team of initial volunteers into ministry leaders. Manage the initial administrative and financial affairs of the assembly with integrity and transparency. Work towards self-sustainability and eventual recognition as a full CAC assembly.
Person Specification:
- Essential: Ordained Minister within the Christ Apostolic Church/Any other bible believing church with a proven track record. Clear calling and passion for church planting and evangelism. Deep knowledge of, and commitment to, the doctrines, liturgy, and distinct practices of the CAC (e.g., belief in divine healing, holiness and Trinity). Ability to engage effectively with a multicultural, urban population. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Resilience, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently.
- Desirable: Previous church-planting or pioneering ministry experience. Theological education (Bachelor in Theology, Diploma in Theology or equivalent degree from other fields of studies with sound knowledge of the Bible and Christian faith). Understanding of the specific dynamics and opportunities within ethnic minority. Ability to speak English fluently; proficiency in Yoruba or other Nigerian languages that will be strong asset for connecting with the core African diaspora community.
