Gloucestershire Equipment Loan Service (GELS) seeks a full-time Logistics Officer (Two Person Crew) based in Hempsted, Gloucester. The role supports the care sector by distributing, delivering, collecting, maintaining and minor adapting of medical equipment to help people be discharged from hospital or remain independent at home. This is a van driver role that involves driving, manual handling, fitting and installing equipment, and working with an assistant as part of a two-person crew.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the van by inspecting its general condition, performing safety checks, checking fluid levels and tyre pressure, and arranging repairs with the transport team.
- Load the van for efficient delivery and collection routes.
- Undertake equipment collections and add items in the field as required.
- Adhere to infection control and personal protective equipment guidelines.
- Collaborate with wider team to resolve issues.
- Fit and install equipment as detailed by health prescribers.
Requirements
- Experience as a van driver with strong driving skills and good knowledge of Gloucestershire.
- Experience in multi-drop deliveries and collections.
- Experience fitting or installing equipment.
- Customer-facing experience.
- Understanding of warehouse procedures and working with people with complex needs.
- Full UK driving licence; DBS check required.

- Contract: Permanent
- Hours: 37 per week
- Location: Hempsted, Gloucester
