This is an excellent opportunity to join an expanding family-run tree surgery and forestry business within Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas. We would prefer someone with a rural background who can work closely with other office staff and the business owners (who can sometimes have minor disagreements as husbands and wives do)! The office is based at the yard and to that effect, it's not pretty, but very friendly.

As our Business Development Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Actively look for new leads via phone sales.
  • Liaising with current and potential commercial clients such as councils, building firms and land agents.
  • Following up all leads proactively.
  • Monitoring listings for tender and contract opportunities.
  • Completing all relevant tender documents and forms and submitting in a timely fashion.
  • Compliance and health and safety and be able to write policies within these areas.
  • Social media across all areas of our business and working closely with our website team.
  • Continuing to build a network of contacts via LinkedIn, telephone, email and in person.
  • Communicating regularly with the office team.
  • Supporting the office with any specific sales or business development initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Experience of sales or business development in a relevant or related industry, or transferable skills.
  • Compliance knowledge or be willing to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Be a team player willing to share progress with the senior team.
  • Be a highly motivated individual who is a self-starter and quick to act on all leads and opportunities.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • An organised individual able to work efficiently and effectively.
