SCHEDULED HOURS: Tuesday-Saturday: Tuesday & Wednesday 4pm to 12am, Thursday 11am to 7pm, Friday & Saturday 8am to 4pm
PROGRAM/LOCATION: Brook House, Enfield, CT
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Brook House is a community-based group home that provides 24-hour staffing and a built-in therapeutic component for 5 girls, aged 13-18 who have experienced trauma and loss, who have serious emotional and behavioral problems and who have lived in more restrictive programs or institutions. Brook House allows the girls to live in a more normal, natural setting within a community, while providing a high level of support and structure.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides direct supervision of staff
- Facilitates staff meetings, trainings, and other meetings as needed
- Coordinates and manages the staff schedule and ensures that all shifts are adequately covered
- Provides after-hours on-call coverage, including holidays and weekends
- Provides direct care supervision of clients including building healthy relationships, problem solving, and psychoeducation
- Provides facilitation, supervision, and support for visits and family connection with parents, relatives and other significant people in the lives of clients
- Directs and assists staff in crisis intervention; facilitates post-crisis response meetings with program staff and program director
- Demonstrates the ability to teach and support the learning of a broad range of skills including those related to: relationship building, symptom management, relapse prevention, emotion regulation, age-appropriate activities and competencies, budgeting, independent living skills, ADLs and areas of psychoeducation and linkage to community resources and self-help groups
- Plans and actively participates in activities to support and improve skills and competencies
- Supports program administration by assisting the Program Director with program budget to maintain fiscal responsibility
- Ensures program compliance with CHR policy, funders, accrediting and licensing bodies
- Actively participates in program development by attending all necessary committee meetings and consultation
- Transports clients when necessary
- Shows knowledge of and role in individual treatment plans, including their assessment, needs, behavioral goals, and intervention strategies
- Maintains documentation in compliance with agency standards
- Household tasks and duties as assigned, or as needed, to promote a clean, safe, and comfortable environment
- Maintains program vehicles and facility to agency standards
- Responsible for providing medication administration as well as training to staff of medication monitoring procedures
- Provides effective performance management of direct reports including recruitment, hiring, evaluations, and progressive discipline
- Additional duties and assignments as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelors in human services or related field. Experience may be used towards educational requirement
- Experience: At least two years working with population served in a residential setting, preferred
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driver’s license
- Training: CPR and First Aid within 6 months of hire and program specific trainings/certifications

COMPENSATION
Starting at $20.65/hr minimum, and up commensurate upon experience. Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based off of relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives.
