We are currently expanding our team in Baldock and are looking for a Part II Architectural Assistant who is looking for a new and exciting opportunity to become a key member of our friendly practice, working on a range of projects predominantly in the retail, residential and commercial sectors. The successful candidate will champion high quality working practices to ensure that the client’s expectations are met on time and within budget.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Produce detailed workings, drawings and specifications
- Discuss the ideas, objectives and requirements
- Consult with other professionals about design
- Assess the needs of the building and its users and advise the client on the practicality of their project
- Prepare and present feasibility reports and design proposals to the client
- Assess the impact on the local environment
- Assist with design and project management, specifically using computer-aided design software
- Assist Line Manager or Director to keep projects within financial budgets and to deadlines
- Assist in specification of the nature and quality of materials required
- Assist Management to prepare tender applications and presentations
- Assist with queries from contractors and other professionals
- Prepare applications for planning and building control departments
- Assist project runners in preparing tender documents for contracts
- Help to coordinate the work of contractors
- Resolve problems and issues that arise during construction
- Ensure that the environmental impact of the project is managed
- Qualified Part II in Architecture or equivalent
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Proficient in InDesign, Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite
- Confident, with a professional attitude
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent attention to detail
- Time management and organisational skills
- Positive and self-motivated with a ‘can do attitude’
- Ability to identify and solve problems
- Ability to work in a team
