We are currently expanding our team in Baldock and are looking for an experienced Architect who is looking for a new and exciting opportunity. You will be working on a range of projects including Retail and Commercial Sectors. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic team player with Retail Experience across RIBA Work Stages 0-7. You will have the opportunity to play a central and sometimes leading role in Design and/or Delivery projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and preferences.
- Develop and review detailed architectural drawings and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with building and safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Utilise software (CAD/Revit) and other design tools to create and modify detailed architectural drawings.
- Collaborate with project managers to coordinate timelines, budgets and resources effectively.
- Conduct site visits to assess project progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Contribute to the preparation and presentation of fee proposals.
- Prepare and present design proposals to clients and stakeholders.
- Prepare technical documentation including specifications, reports and presentations.
- Researching and maintaining an excellent knowledge of various disciplines, application methods, and materials. In addition, stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Monitoring the work of junior members of the team and making recommendations as required ensuring that all issues are addressed in a timely manner.
- Providing guidance to subcontractors and helping them interpret design specifications.
- Liaising with clients to ensure all issues are addressed in a timely manner, and the project requirements are met.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
- Acting as a mentor to junior members of the team helping them to develop and progress in their roles.
- Identifying new business opportunities with current and new clients.
- Manage projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of quality in all deliverables.
- A fully qualified Architect (ARB registered).
- Knowledge of the UK planning process, BREEAM and UK Building Regulations.
- Proficient in Revit/AutoCAD software is essential.
- Understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, Rhino 3D.
- Proven track record within the industry.
- Confident, positive and self-motivated with a professional attitude.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Detail orientated and highly analytical.
- Time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to identify and solve problems creatively.
