CHPK Fire Engineering is a leading consultancy specialising in fire safety engineering across the built environment. With a reputation for technical excellence and a client-first approach, we work across a diverse range of sectors including residential, commercial, heritage, healthcare, and high-rise developments.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced and driven Fire Engineer to support our growing portfolio of projects across London and the South East. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering tailored fire engineering strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and working closely with design teams, contractors, and approving authorities.
Responsibilities
- Develop fire strategies for new builds and refurbishments in accordance with Building Regulations and relevant guidance (e.g. BS 9999, BS 7974, ADB).
- Prepare fire statements.
- Conduct drawing/plan reviews.
- Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and local authorities.
- Provide technical advice and support throughout design and construction phases.
- Prepare and review fire safety documentation and reports.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of CHPK's fire engineering processes.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Degree in Fire Engineering or related discipline.
- 2-3 years proven experience in fire engineering consultancy.
- Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and design codes.
- Excellent communication skills and client-facing confidence.
- Ability to manage projects independently or as part of a collaborative team.
- Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) and/or Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM).
