From our London headquarters in Liverpool Street, we deliver trusted advice and technical expertise to a broad client base including corporate occupiers, investment funds, and developers.
We are seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join our Building Surveying and Professional Services team. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor, delivering high-quality consultancy services across the commercial property sector. You’ll lead the technical delivery of projects, provide expert advice to clients, and mentor junior team members.
This position offers exposure to a diverse range of work from technical due diligence and dilapidations to refurbishment, project management, and contract administration. You’ll also have opportunities to support business development, collaborate with our Propitas colleagues, and contribute to the continued growth of CHPK Group.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and deliver a variety of Building Surveying services, including:
- Dilapidations representing both landlords and tenants, including advice, preparation, and negotiation.
- Technical Due Diligence conducting surveys and preparing reports for acquisitions, disposals, and refinancing.
- Design & Contract Administration managing refurbishment and fit-out projects from inception to completion.
- Project Management and Employers Agent duties across commercial projects.
- Defect Analysis, Schedules of Condition, and PPM reporting.
- Reinstatement Cost Assessments and feasibility studies.
- Strong technical, contractual, and regulatory knowledge, particularly within commercial Building Surveying.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach.
- Commercially astute with a sound understanding of market trends and client priorities.
- Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Team-oriented, with a commitment to collaboration across CHPK and Propitas.
- Confident representing CHPK Group at client and industry events.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to travel to sites across London and occasionally nationwide.
- Degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
- MRICS qualification (essential).
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience within a consultancy environment.
- Proven experience delivering commercial building surveying services including dilapidations, Technical Due Diligence, and contract administration.
- Experience acting as Project Manager or Employers Agent.
- Strong working knowledge of JCT and NEC contract suites.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Deltek PIM is advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence.
