An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspirational teacher to join our well-established Design Technology Department. We have a strong uptake of Design and Technology at KS4 and KS5, giving us the opportunity to expand the department by finding another teacher with the ability to teach across the full range of relevant subject areas, specialising in Food & Nutrition at KS3 and EDUQAS Hospitality and Catering at KS4. Experience with electronics and multi materials would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the on-going journey of the department working with ambitious and aspirational staff. The role is full time, but we would consider a reduced timetable for the right candidate.
Chosen Hill School is a thriving and ambitious comprehensive academy, judged good by Ofsted in all categories. It is a large, popular and successful 11-18 Academy School situated in Churchdown, halfway between Cheltenham and Gloucester. We have around 1350 students on roll, of which 200 are in the Sixth Form. Ideal candidate will:
- Be an outstanding teacher with a passion for getting the best from students
- Have excellent and current subject and pedagogical knowledge across Design Technology, Food & Nutrition, and Hospitality and Catering
- Be innovative and inspirational in their teaching, and ambitious for their students' outcomes
- Have experience delivering the EDUQAS Hospitality and Catering specification, or a willingness to develop this expertise
- Be able to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Be motivated by personal and professional development
- Holding a food hygiene certificate would be advantageous
