About the Role
Role: Mayor’s Secretary | Location: Chorley and South Ribble | Contract: Full time (36.25 hours per week) / Permanent | Salary: £34,434 – £37,280 | Closing Date: 21 October 2025

We’re looking for an exceptional Mayor’s Secretary to provide an excellent support service to the Mayor and our civic services function across both Chorley and South Ribble.
What you’ll be getting up to
- Ensuring the busy Mayor’s office is managed efficiently and effectively, including diary management, advising on protocol and administrative services
- Ensuring Mayoral engagements run smoothly and the Mayor is fully briefed and prepared
- Organising Mayoral, civic and other high profile corporate events
- Supporting the operation of the Lancastrian Suite
- Providing corporate support to other teams as needed
Who we’re looking for
- Someone with strong interpersonal, customer service and organisational skills
- Flexibility with organising events and Mayoral engagements
- A great communicator and ability to liaise with a diverse range of people and organisations
- Creativity, ability to advise on process and provide a wide range of secretarial and administrative services
- Experience of using Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate in writing with strong numeracy skills
