About the Role
Location: Moss Side Depot, Leyland
Contract: Full time (36.25 hours per week) / Permanent
Salary: £39,862 - £40,777 plus 6% car allowance
Closing Date: 29 April 2026
What you’ll be getting up to:
- Manage and motivate operational waste teams to deliver excellent service.
- Coordinate daily activities, ensuring productivity and compliance with Council standards.
- Oversee the proper use and maintenance of equipment and vehicles.
- Champion health and safety, carrying out risk assessments and investigating incidents.
- Support the smooth running of the depot and fleet operations.
- Contribute to emergency planning and respond when needed.
- Drive improvements through digital systems and new ways of working.
- Embed outstanding customer service across everything we do.
Who we’re looking for:
- Significant management experience.
- Level 3 Health & Safety Management qualification (or equivalent).
- A UK Driving Licence.
- Experience managing operational teams and relevant industry knowledge.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital scheduling systems.
- A solid understanding of health and safety best practice.
- The ability to challenge, innovate, and inspire continuous improvement.
Other requirements:
This role requires you to regularly use a vehicle therefore you must possess a valid UK Driving Licence.
