About The Role

Location: Civic Centre, West Paddock, Leyland, PR25 1DH

Contract: Full time (36.25 hours per week) / Permanent

Salary: £47,181 - £48,226

The Community Development Manager role at South Ribble is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting local communities to achieve their aspirations. The role includes responsibility for work programmes around mental health, cost of living, and forced migration. What you’ll be getting up to

  • You will lead a team of officers with experience and disciplines in a number of areas, to support the wide remit of the service.
  • Working closely with local elected members as part of the Community Hubs, supporting them to identify and define local priorities and projects.
  • Delivering major programmes of activity such as Holiday Activity and Food, Household Support Fund and Forced Migration.
  • Support local community development with the objective to build resilience and sustainability across the varied and vibrant groups across the voluntary sector.

Who we’re looking for

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and programmes of work simultaneously.
  • Able to quickly build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders both within and outside the Council.
  • Experience and confidence in managing large budgets and complex projects.

Other requirements

This role requires some travel around our borough. You should have a valid driving licence or the equivalent mobility. Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check (applied and paid for by the Council).
