We are looking for a Casual leisure attendant (lifeguard) to join our team at South Ribble Leisure. We have positions available at Bamber Bridge Leisure Centre. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are qualified Lifeguards. If you feel like you can provide and be a key asset to the team and members of the South Ribble community, then this opportunity is for you. You must possess National Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
In the Leisure Attendant (lifeguard) role, we will offer ongoing training and development opportunities, including support to ensure your personal competency is maintained for your NPLQ qualification via monthly training.
What you’ll be getting up to
- You will provide an efficient service to all customers at the leisure centre in a polite and courteous manner.
- You’ll be pro-active in providing information to promote the Centre to the public.
- You’ll ensure a good level of housekeeping and cleaning standards are maintained throughout the leisure centre to reflect a welcoming and clean environment to the general public, and the centre’s customers.
- You will maintain health and safety, security, and appropriate standards of behaviour to provide a duty of care to your colleagues, and the general public.
- You will be expected to administer first aid in the event of injury, rescue swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administer CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.
Who we’re looking for
- You’ll have experience working in the public sector (leisure industry desirable).
- You will be able to work independently, and able to cooperate in a team environment to assist in the day to day operations in the workplace.
- You will possess a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), ideally with up to date training records.
- You possess a good level of first aid knowledge, which you may need to apply when dealing with any potential accidents.
Other requirements
Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check (applied and paid for by the Council).
