About The Role

Location: Chorley and South Ribble Councils

Contract: Full time (36.25 hours per week) / Permanent

Salary: ÂŁ26,824 - ÂŁ33,699

Closing Date: 16 November 2025

We’re looking for a Business Systems Officer to join our Digital Services team. This position is career graded and spans from level 4 to level 7 dependant on experience. You will work with services across the Councils to support the digital vision and maximise our use of technology.

What you’ll be getting up to

  • You’ll contribute to the work of the business systems team, working in partnership with services to identify, design, implement and manage IT business systems.
  • You’ll assist a range of IT Business systems projects with support from the Business Systems Manager.
  • You’ll support the maintenance and administration of IT business systems.
  • You’ll support the training of users in relation to new technology, business systems, data and maintaining information and relevant documentation.

Who we’re looking for

  • You’ll be enthusiastic about technology and developing the council’s offer.
  • You’ll have experience of supporting IT projects.
  • You’ll have knowledge of a range of IT business systems.
  • You’ll have knowledge of supporting Microsoft 365.

Other requirements

Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check (applied and paid for by the Council).
