We are looking for a Leisure Officer to join our team at Bamber Bridge Sports Hub. If you are passionate and/or experienced in the leisure industry, if you feel like you can provide and be a key asset to the team and members of the South Ribble community, then this opportunity is for you.
What you’ll be getting up to:
- Preparing activity spaces, astro turf pitches and room hire by setting up and putting away equipment for bookings, classes, and events.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and tidiness throughout the facility, including activity areas, communal spaces, changing rooms, astro turf pitches and customer areas.
- Welcoming customers, providing excellent customer service, and assisting with enquiries.
- Operating the kiosk, preparing and serving refreshments such as coffee, snacks, confectionary, and ice creams, while handling payments accurately.
- Supervising areas of the facility to ensure security, health and safety, and appropriate standards of behaviour are followed to provide a duty of care to your colleagues, customers, and general public.
- Carrying out routine checks of equipment and reporting any faults or maintenance issues.
- Expected to administer first aid in the event of injury, and administer CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.
- Supporting the wider team with the smooth day to day running of the facility.
This is a varied, hands on role suited to someone who enjoys working with people, staying active, and being part of a busy team environment.
Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and customer‑focused Leisure Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. You will take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the facility, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors. You should be practical and proactive, with the ability to set up and move football related equipment efficiently for a variety of activities and events. Excellent customer service skills are essential, as the role will also involve operating the kiosk and serving a range of refreshments including coffee, snacks, confectionary and ice creams. You should be confident handling sales transactions, approachable when dealing with customers, and able to provide friendly and professional service at all times. Flexibility is important, as shifts will generally be evenings, weekends and busy periods. Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or leisure settings would be an advantage. An element of the role will involve responding to incidents and providing basic first aid when required. Previous first aid experience or a recognised first aid qualification would be desirable.

- A suitable DBS will be required for this role (applied and paid for by South Ribble Leisure).
