About The Role

Location: Chorley Leisure

Contract: Part‑time (16 hours per week) / Permanent

Salary: £30,559 - £32,071 for full time working; Actual Salary £12,223 - £12,828

We’re looking for an experienced Duty Manager to join Chorley Leisure. You’ll support the Senior Duty Manager in ensuring the effective running of operations within multiple leisure venues across Chorley. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the delivery of leisure services within the Chorley Borough. We’re looking for someone experienced in managing day‑to‑day operations with a background in leisure. You'll be joining our team of Duty Managers so previous experience in managing staff is essential. You’ll have experience with health and safety, supporting a varied workforce, and implementing safe working practices.

What you’ll be getting up to

  • To ensure that the Leisure Centre is opened and closed in accordance with procedures and monitor the security of the building during all opening hours.
  • Responsible to the Senior Duty Manager, you will work alongside other Duty Managers to lead, direct and motivate operational staff including Leisure Attendants and Cleaners to ensure a quality service delivery for all users.
  • To inspect and monitor all areas of the centre throughout the day and designate staff to routine duties as required, deploying them to respond to any issues identified.
  • You will communicate clear instructions to ensure staff fulfil their roles in an efficient and safe manner to meet the daily requirements of the leisure centre.
  • To control and manage events such as accidents and emergencies and ensure compliance with statutory requirements, health and safety and company policies and procedures.
  • To maintain a high profile throughout the facility and respond positively to customer needs expectations and comments and ensure excellent housekeeping is maintained by staff.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for a confident manager - you’ll be managing staff in a multi‑disciplined environment. You'll have experience of managing the day‑to‑day operation of facilities, ideally across multiple sites. You will have excellent knowledge of health and safety within the workplace. Experience working within/managing a lifeguard team is essential.

Essential qualifications: RLSS National pool lifeguard qualification.

Desirable qualifications: IOSH, Pool Plant Operator, First Aid.

Other requirements

Successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check. This role requires the post holder to travel between sites. You will have a valid driving licence and vehicle.
