Contract: Part time (positions available up to 25 hours per week) / Permanent

As part of the Council’s Leisure Services team, you will be responsible for having direct contact with customers whilst carrying out a broad range of duties in order to maintain a high standard of customer focused service, ensuring they can make full and safe use of the leisure facilities contributing to the creation of our new reception team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the delivery of leisure services within Chorley. (This role may involve some weekend work. Various hours available from 5 hours to 25 hours per week)
Who we’re looking for
As a vital member of the team, you will be the first point of contact for our members. Your attitude, professionalism and willingness to help will ensure a positive experience and reflect the high standards of our facility.
- Provide ongoing support to colleagues and users of the centres in various areas and roles, including meeting and greeting centre users, taking bookings and payments, answering phone calls and emails from centre users, with a focus on frontline service delivery.
- Support inclusive access for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.
- Assist with the promotion of benefits and upselling of membership packages whilst having good knowledge of the terms and conditions.
- Handle cash, card and other digital transactions in line with the organisation’s financial procedures.
- Helping to ensure the company follows cash handling regulations.
- Reporting any financial irregularities and assisting in the process of identifying till variances.
- Follow all relevant compliance guidelines such as ensuring GPDR regulations regarding data protection of customer’s personal details and banking information are adhered to at all times when handling membership data.
- Comply with all aspects of the Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and Normal Operating Procedure (NOP), ensuring health and safety procedures and guidelines are adhered to at all times.
- Assisting in the safe evacuation of the premises.
