Role Summary and Impact
As a key member of the Choreograph UK leadership team, the SVP, Data Strategy is responsible for driving transformative growth for a dedicated portfolio of WPP’s largest clients. You will govern the data strategy practice across our Wavemaker and T&P agency groups, leading a team of VPs to deliver exceptional client outcomes for renowned brands such as Colgate, Danone, Nationwide, and Eurostar. Alongside your portfolio responsibilities, you will lead our strategic engagement with the wider data and technology ecosystem as the UK Data Strategy practice lead for Partnerships. You will architect our data partnership strategy, govern key relationships with technology platforms, data providers, and clean room vendors, and ensure our teams are leveraging the best of the market to deliver for our clients.
This dual‑mandate role requires a leader who excels at senior client management and building powerful, mutually beneficial external alliances.

Portfolio Governance: Own the strategic data relationship and growth plans across the Wavemaker and T&P client portfolio. Ensure every client has a clear data maturity roadmap, driving innovation and measurable business growth. Act as the senior executive sponsor for key clients.
Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of two VP‑level direct reports and an overall team of 6, fostering a culture of excellence and curiosity. You will be responsible for orchestrating their efforts to deliver outstanding work and developing them into future leaders.
Horizontal Leadership (Partnerships): Architect and own the UK Data Strategy partnership map. You will be the primary point of contact for our most critical data and technology partners, lead the evaluation of new potential partners, and work with our commercial and legal teams to structure agreements. You will be the central expert for Data Strategy the entire practice on how to best navigate and leverage the partner ecosystem.
Executive Stakeholder Management: Cultivate and manage relationships with senior marketing and data leads at key clients, as well as C‑suite stakeholders within our agencies and external partner organisations. You will be the face of Choreograph data strategy at the most senior levels of your portfolio.
Strategic Contribution: As a direct report to the EVP, Data Strategy, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the overall vision, operational effectiveness, and culture of the entire Choreograph UK department.
What You’ll Need
- Extensive experience leading data strategy or analytics functions at a senior level, with a proven track record of managing large, complex client portfolios.
- A strong network and demonstrable experience in building and managing strategic alliances with major data and technology partners (e.g., Google, Meta, Amazon, data providers, clean room vendors).
- Proven ability to lead and develop other senior leaders (VP/Director level).
- Exceptional executive presence and communication skills, with strong negotiation abilities and the capacity to represent Choreograph at the highest level with external partners.
- A strategic mindset with a deep understanding of the broader industry landscape and the ability to identify and activate partnership opportunities that create client value.
