About the Role
The Stockroom Responsible ensures Choosing Keeping\βs Tower Street stockroom is well organised, accurate, and efficiently run. Acting as the link between the warehouse (Hewlett House) and the shop, they are responsible for receiving deliveries, managing stock transfers, and maintaining order in the stockroom. They are also the first point of contact for stock-related queries at Tower Street and provide reliable administrative support to the Shop Manager, including financial paperwork and customer enquiry triage. This is a hands-on role requiring reliability, physical stamina, and excellent attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
1. Stockroom Organisation
- Maintain the stockroom in an orderly, clean, and safe condition at all times.
- Ensure products are stored neatly and systematically, making them easy to locate.
- Uphold health and safety standards, ensuring walkways are clear and storage practices are safe.
- Ensure the highest standard of housekeeping is observed in all back-of-house areas at all times.
2. Deliveries & Transfers
- Receive deliveries from Hewlett House, checking quantities and conditions of goods.
- Write up order lists for the stockroom and raise stock transfer requests for the shop.
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics staff to ensure timely transfers.
- Report and document any discrepancies or damages.
3. Stock Control & Records
- Keep accurate records of stockroom movements and transfers.
- Carry out regular rolling inventory checks to maintain accuracy against system records.
- Use Unleashed (inventory management software) confidently to check, update, and maintain stock data.
- Act as the point of contact for stock-related queries at Tower Street.
- Work with the Shop Manager to ensure key product ranges are replenished promptly.
- Flag low stock levels, fast-moving items, or discrepancies.
4. Administrative & Finance Support
- Provide administrative support to the Shop Manager in financial and back-office tasks.
- Assist with maintaining accurate sales and stock documentation.
- Help prepare paperwork for finance, ensuring it is complete and submitted on time.
- Support the Shop Manager in checking and organising records related to shop operations.
5. Customer Support & Communication
- Monitor and manage the general enquiries email inbox, responding promptly to straightforward queries.
- Forward more complex enquiries to the appropriate department (Shop Manager, Logistics, E-Commerce, etc.).
- Act as a triage point, ensuring enquiries are acknowledged quickly and directed efficiently.
- Respond to incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner, handling simple requests directly or passing calls on to the relevant colleague.
6. Shop Support & Loss Prevention
- Support occasional shop floor activity during peak times as directed by the Shop Manager.
- Carry out routine cleaning and safety checks in the stockroom, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Support all operations for loss prevention, including careful stock handling, accurate record-keeping, and raising concerns when issues are identified.
