  • Collaborate with Client and Proposal Team members to develop scope and priorities
  • Author, plan, develop, organize, write, and edit content for a variety of capabilities for customers in the federal, state, local, and education fields.
  • Draft clear, compelling, and accurate responses to RFPs, RFIs, DDQs, and other client requests.
  • Translate technical, operational, or legal input into persuasive, audience-appropriate language.
  • Tailor existing content to reflect the specific needs and goals of each proposal.
  • Manage updates and revisions to technical content
  • Ensure strict adherence to all solicitation requirements, guidelines, and evaluation criteria, maintaining a sharp focus on accuracy and consistency throughout the proposal process.
  • Create persuasive proposal content, utilizing best practices, past performance, and case studies to substantiate our capabilities.
  • Conduct research using multiple sources (e.g., open-source research, SME meetings, solutioning sessions, data calls, etc.).
  • Gather pertinent information through interviews with subject matter experts across a wide range of defense domains and formulate the information into technical responses.
  • Review Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and provide technical guidance, input, and written responses for winning solutions
  • Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to author content
  • Participate in solution and strategy sessions with SMEs and other proposal team members *Innovate to constantly improve our approach to responses
  • Review and edit documentation for clarity, consistency, and adherence to company standards
  • Convey concepts and processes in a clear and concise manner
  • Edit material with attention to the rules of grammar, usage, punctuation and AP style, and with attention to tone, clarity, and voice.
  • Continuously curate, grow, and update our team library of approved content, driving and organizing proposal content to maximize reuse effectiveness and utility
  • Bachelors degree and one year of relevant work experience. In lieu of a degree, five years of relevant experience will be considered.
  • Excellent schedule management abilities with a track record of managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and maintaining a high standard of work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work efficiently across teams and build relationships with SMEs, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and company initiatives such as process-improvement and new software implementation and upgrades.
  • Ability to clearly articulate information and to listen and understand business needs and build relationships across the organization.
  • Relevant certifications: APMP, Shipley, Poynter ACES, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience supporting proposals for geographically-dispersed clients and alongside geographically-dispersed teams.

Job Summary:

This role will be largely responsible for working closely with the Client and Proposal Team to develop technical content for federal proposals. This person will deliver high-quality, well-organized thought-leadership content that is technical, but still understandable to a non-developer, tech savvy audience. The Proposal Writer will contribute to clear, concise, accurate, innovative, and compliant responses to RFPs, as well as provide copy/editing support to ensure final submission products are aligned with company standards.
