Care Worker in Penistone

Choices Homecare are seeking compassionate Domiciliary Care Workers for our locations across the Penistone Region (Silkstone, Silkstone Common, Hoylandswaine and surrounding areas). Working hours: Our service provides care 7 days a week between 07:00 – 22:00. We welcome applicants who seek both full-time and part-time hours. Please indicate your preference of working days and hours on the prescreen application form. We offer flexible zero-hour contracts where you can choose to work as many hours as you’d like. To keep things fair for everyone, we ask for a minimum of 20 hours each week, with every other weekend included. You’ll work on a simple 2-week rolling rota, so you’ll always know your schedule in advance.

Location: Penistone Region (Silkstone, Silkstone Common, Hoylandswaine and surrounding areas).

Key Responsibilities Of a Care Worker:

• Supporting individuals with personal care needs such as washing, dressing, and toileting.
• Assisting with medication administration and documentation in line with care plans.
• Preparing meals and assisting with eating and drinking where required.
• Promoting independence and encouraging service users to engage in daily living tasks.
• Building positive relationships with individuals and their families.
• Supporting emotional well-being and recognising signs of distress or changes in behaviour.
• Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
• Ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment in the home.
• Respecting confidentiality and maintaining professional boundaries.

What You'll Need:

• Experience preferred but not essential – full training provided.
• UK Driving licence and own vehicle is essential within certain routes/locations (We pay 30p per mile fuel allowance).
• Alternative weekend availability.

Please Note: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must have current and valid Right to Work in the UK. You'll need a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. As you will be travelling between clients, you’ll also need to provide proof of car insurance during the recruitment process.
