About the Role

Abbeycare is a trusted and compassionate provider of health and social care services. We support individuals in their own homes, assisting those with a variety of health needs, including learning disabilities, mental health issues, physical disabilities, and those requiring assistance with personal care.

We are currently seeking dedicated Waking Night Support Workers to join our team and help make a real difference in the lives of the individuals we support.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support individuals to live independently: Encourage and support daily activities such as meal preparation, budgeting, and personal care to help maintain independence.
  • Administering medication: Follow medication protocols, ensuring medication is administered accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and accessible home: Help keep the living environment tidy and organised.
  • Promote healthy relationships: Foster positive relationships with family, friends, and the wider community.
  • Support day-to-day activities: Provide practical and emotional support for shopping, appointments, social activities, and hobbies.
  • Access the community: Help individuals access community resources and activities to enhance social inclusion and well-being.
  • Support outside the home setting: May accompany individuals outside of their home for activities such as hospital visits, holidays, or appointments (e.g., police stations).
  • Promote independence and individuality: Respect personal preferences and promote independence in each individual’s plan.
  • Report to the Service Manager: Regularly report progress and ensure care plans are followed.

Role Details

  • Role Type: Part Time and Full Time positions available.
  • Hours: 16-36 hours (Bank contracts also available).
  • Shift Patterns: Vary — please discuss at interview. Patterns include 8pm-7am, 8pm-8am, or 10pm-7am.
  • Location: Sheffield

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable.
  • A full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).
