Choices Homecare are seeking compassionate Domiciliary Care Workers for our locations across the Huddersfield region. Supporting individuals to live safely, independently, and with dignity in their own home and community, empowering them to live the life they choose.

About Choices Homecare

Choices Homecare is proudly part of the Optimo Care Group that supports service users across the UK with over 1,500 dedicated employees and a strong presence across multiple regions. We collaborate closely with local authorities, healthcare providers, and care professionals to deliver outcome‑focused care.

Working hours

Our service provides care 7 days a week between 07:00 – 22:00. Applicants may choose full‑time or part‑time hours. Schedule options include morning (7am‑3pm), and you can work as many hours as you’d like. This role is paid for care delivery time only, with mileage between calls reimbursed at 30p per mile. This is not a block pay position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support individuals with personal care needs such as washing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Assist with medication administration and documentation in line with care plans.
  • Prepare meals and assist with eating and drinking where required.
  • Promote independence and encourage service users to engage in daily living tasks.
  • Build positive relationships with individuals and their families.
  • Support emotional well‑being and recognise signs of distress or changes in behaviour.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment in the home.
  • Respect confidentiality and always maintain professional boundaries.

  • UK driving licence and own vehicle are essential; mileage reimbursed at 30p per mile.
