Choices Homecare are seeking compassionate Domiciliary Care Workers for our locations across the Kirklees/Huddersfield area. Supporting individuals to live safely, independently, and with dignity in their own home and community, empowering them to live the life they choose. Working Arrangements

Working hours: Our service provides care 7 days a week between 07:00 – 22:00. We welcome applicants who seek both full-time and part-time hours. Please indicate your preference of working days and hours at the 1st point of contact with our colleagues. We’re proud to offer flexible zero-hour contracts where you can choose to work as many hours as you’d like. To keep things fair for everyone, we ask for a minimum of 20 hours each week, with every other weekend included. You’ll work on a simple 2-week rolling rota, so you’ll always know your schedule in advance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting individuals with personal care needs such as washing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Assisting with medication administration and documentation in line with care plans.
  • Preparing meals and assisting with eating and drinking where required.
  • Promoting independence and encouraging service users to engage in daily living tasks.
  • Building positive relationships with individuals and their families.
  • Supporting emotional well-being and recognising signs of distress or changes in behaviour.
  • Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment in the home.
  • Respecting confidentiality and always maintaining professional boundaries.

  • UK Driving licence and own vehicle is essential within certain routes/locations (We pay 30p per mile fuel allowance).

Please Note: You’ll need a full UK driving licence and your own vehicle. To cover travel between clients, you’ll also need business use included on your car insurance — this is usually a quick and inexpensive addition to your existing policy.
