We are seeking a Support Worker to provide compassionate care and support to adult individuals with learning disabilities including autism and challenging behaviours.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal hygiene, dressing and toileting.
- Provide tailored care and support to meet individual needs.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to support challenging behaviours.
- Offer companionship and emotional support; build meaningful connections.
- Collaborate with health professionals, e. g., nurses, for holistic care.
- Ensure a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment.
Requirements
- Experience in adult social care or transferable experience (e. g., gardening, hairdressing).
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond to emergencies.
- Understanding of behaviour‑management techniques for complex needs.
- Valid driving licence (age 21+). Ability to operate company vehicles.
- Willingness to work your share of weekends (usually 1 in 4 weeks).
- Physical ability to handle/push wheelchairs and support users.
- Available for 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00–16:00.
