Position: Personal Assistant (PA) Z034 needed for a cheerful, non-verbal gentleman in the HU3 area of Hull, near Hull Royal Infirmary. The role is 13.5 hours per week (8am-10:30am Mon-Thu, 8am-9:30am Fri, Sunday 5pm-7pm) with flexibility to cover holiday and sickness absences for the other two existing carers.
About the Candidate
This job is ideal for a reliable, cheerful, flexible, and team-oriented individual able to support a wheelchair user who requires a hoist.
Responsibilities
- Personal Care and Support – dressing, washing, toileting, meal assistance; safe use of hoist (training provided).
- Domestic Assistance – laundry, general cleaning and other house tasks the gentleman cannot manage.
Qualifications & Skills
- Punctual, reliable and committed to a consistent schedule.
- Cheerful, engaging and capable of involving the gentleman in activities, and sensitive to his likes/dislikes.
- Willing to learn unique communication methods and care requirements.
- Team player able to work effectively under the direction of the main carer (mother).
Required Checks
Successful applicant will be employed subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer/local authority.
