2 × PA Tuesday and Thursday evening are ideal hours of work. 2 × PA are needed to support a very friendly 16‑year‑old girl with a diagnosis of autism who is eager to explore the world. The girl has no sense of danger or social barriers, very limited communication and a tendency to abscond in the least expected moments.
Her favourite leisure activities include swimming, trampoline parks, and soft play centres. She loves people watching, relaxing in restaurants, coffee bars and adores travelling and visiting new places. We are looking for PAs to assist with these activities and to access appropriate social groups such as Big Buzz and LAFFs.
Swimming skills are essential as one PA will need to be in the water with her, and the second PA will support with getting out the pool and changing room area. It would be preferred if the PA was a driver and had access to a vehicle, but not essential as she enjoys trips out on public transport.
Most importantly we are looking for responsible, reliable kind persons who can help build a companionship, supporting this young person in enjoying activities and outings.
Owing to the nature of this position, any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory checking report from the Disclosure and Barring Service, the cost of which will be met by the local authority/employer.
Location: HU8 area. Rate of pay: £12.71. Hours: 4 hrs per week each PA Tuesday and Thursday. Vacancies: 2.
