Overview
We are looking for two female Personal Assistants to support an eleven‑year‑old girl who enjoys a variety of activities such as feeding pigeons, visiting sensory rooms and ball pools. She requires a 2:1 ratio of assistants to provide care throughout term time and school holiday periods.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including changing nappies and assisting with toileting.
- Support the child to attend community activities and outings in a safe, structured manner.
- Maintain daily routines and assist with transitions to minimise challenging behaviour (grabbing, biting, hair pulling).
- Work flexibly to accommodate term‑time and holiday hours, including banked hours.
- Collaborate closely with the other assistant to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Female (genuine occupational requirement – exempt under the Equality Act 2010).
- Current DBS check or willingness to obtain one; the cost will be covered by the local authority.
- Experience or ability to work with children exhibiting challenging behaviours and special needs.
- Ability to maintain a structured routine and support transitions.
