Overview: Personal Assistant to support a young woman to access the community. The direct payment is for 51 hours per week, so will require 2-3 Personal Assistants to cover the hours. The role is in the HU9 area.
Responsibilities:
- Support with transfers from bed to wheelchair to chair, personal care and dressing for the day, toileting, nutritional and drink preparation.
- Assist with putting on and taking off callipers.
- Support the daughter with morning packing and, on some occasions, escort to and from school.
- Provide opportunities for social time to access the community for the woman and her young daughter.
- Complete some domestic tasks as required.
- Be flexible to include evenings and weekends; hours to be discussed at interview.
Qualifications / Attributes:
- Trustworthy, honest, caring, reliable and able to build strong relationships based on equality and respect.
- Promote independent living; be positive, confident and very supportive.
- Ability to work in the HU9 area and support in a way that respects the client’s independence.
