A Female Personal Assistant is required for a lady in the HU4 area of Hull. She lives with her two children, a girl of 17 and a boy of 15 and the family cat. She needs support to get out of the house to shop and socialise, go to swimming/therapies (including dressing/undressing), attend church, and attend appointments. She also enjoys gardening and the outdoors. She uses a powered wheelchair but can transfer herself. A car driver with a clean license is preferred for her mobility vehicle as she particularly needs support to get to appointments and shopping and cannot rely on public transport.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to help the lady get out of the house for activities such as shopping, socialising, swimming/therapies, church, appointments, and outdoor activities.
- Assist with dressing and undressing as needed.
- Support mobility and transport to appointments and shopping; assist with accessing a mobility vehicle; driving may be involved if required.
- Assist with gardening and outdoor activities.
- Respect privacy and dignity while performing duties.
Qualifications
- DBS check: appointment will be made subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
- Gender requirement: There is a genuine occupational requirement for a FEMALE worker, and therefore only applications from FEMALES will be considered. Exempt under the Equality Act 2010 (Schedule 9, Part 1).
- Experience with personal care support is preferred; a car driver with a clean license is preferred for mobility support.
