A 26‑year‑old male is looking for a Personal Assistant for 5 hours per week (with a view to increase). He needs a PA to help him get out into the community and develop his interests. He likes the buses and visiting the station to see the trains, and he also enjoys visits to museums. He needs encouragement to walk and increase his activity levels. The PA would need to work with his mum to structure activities that keep him interested and engaged. The young man has ASD and is able to communicate well; however, his impairment affects his ability to interact with others. The PA will need to take time to build trust and establish a positive working relationship.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the young man in planning and attending community activities.
- Encourage and support walking and physical activity.
- Collaborate with his mum to structure and maintain engaging activities.
