We are currently recruiting for an experienced and adaptable General SEN Teacher to join an independent specialist education setting based in Wisbech on a permanent basis. About the Role

As a General SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons across a range of core subjects, with a particular focus on English, Maths, and Science. You will support pupils with SEND, SEMH, and additional behavioural needs, helping them to develop academically, socially, and emotionally within a structured and nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across English, Maths, and Science
  • Differentiate learning to meet individual pupil needs and abilities
  • Support pupils with SEND, SEMH, and additional behavioural needs
  • Use assessment data to monitor progress and adapt teaching strategies effectively
  • Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and positive learning behaviours
  • Maintain high expectations around behaviour, attendance, and achievement
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and specialist staff to provide effective support
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Promote social, emotional, and academic development through therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches

Requirements

  • QTS/QTLS qualification
  • Comfortable teaching English, Maths, and Science
  • Minimum 2 years’ teaching experience preferred
  • Experience working with pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour
  • Strong understanding of SEN education, safeguarding, behaviour management, and differentiated learning
  • Ability to build positive relationships and engage vulnerable learners
  • Resilient, adaptable, and committed to professional standards
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • Driver ideal due to location
