Biology Technician - Immediate Start
Location: Ware, Hertfordshire
Pay: £90-£110 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, approximately 8:00am - 3:30pm
Contract: Temporary initially, with the potential to become permanent
Start: Immediate
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a school in Ware, Hertfordshire, for a Biology Technician to join their Science Department on an immediate start basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong Biology background, ideally with a Biology degree or relevant scientific qualification, to support the Biology department in a practical and laboratory-based role.
The Role
As a Biology Technician, you will work closely with the Biology teachers to ensure practical lessons and experiments are fully prepared and ready to go.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting up and preparing Biology experiments and practical activities.
- Preparing equipment, materials and specimens for lessons.
- Supporting Biology teachers with practical experiments and demonstrations.
- Ensuring laboratories and equipment are clean, organised and ready for use.
- Maintaining appropriate health and safety standards.
- Assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the Biology department.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong knowledge of Biology - essential.
- A Biology degree or relevant scientific qualification is highly desirable.
- Laboratory or practical scientific experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent organisational and practical skills.
- Strong attention to detail.The ability to work effectively alongside teaching staff.
Please note: This is a non-teaching position. The role is focused on preparing experiments and providing practical support to the Biology teaching team.
