Deputy Manager - After School Club
Waltham Cross | Monday-Friday, 3pm-6pm
We are looking for a confident and experienced Deputy Manager to join our friendly after school club.
This is a hands-on childcare role, similar to a Playworker position, but with the added responsibility of leading and managing the session and delegating duties to the team.
The successful candidate must have:
- Minimum Level 2 Childcare qualification
- At least 2 years' relevant childcare experience
- Experience in an after school club, nursery, pre-school or similar setting
- Confidence in delegating tasks and managing staff during a session
- Good communication and organisational skills
- A positive, enthusiastic approach to working with children
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child welfare
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the smooth running of the 3pm-6pm session
- Supervise and engage with children through play and activities
- Delegate duties and support the staff team
- Help maintain a safe, fun and welcoming environment
- Support with behaviour management, snacks and daily routines
- Work closely with the Manager and communicate any concerns
After school club experience is desirable, but relevant experience in a nursery or pre-school will also be considered.
