Choice Teachers is currently seeking a passionate, dedicated, and resilient Inclusion Assistant to join a vibrant educational setting in Stevenage. This role is ideal for a supportive professional who wants to make a meaningful impact on students' educational journeys, personal growth, and independence. You will provide vital in-class and out-of-class support for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), helping them to access the curriculum and thrive in a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted 1-to-1 and small group support for students with diverse additional learning needs, including neurodiversity and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) challenges.
  • Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging lessons, adapting materials, and promoting student independence in line with individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Help manage classroom behaviour positively and cultivate a welcoming, calm atmosphere where all learners feel secure.
  • Maintain accurate departmental records, monitor student engagement, and contribute to progress tracking and reviews.
  • Support students with study skills, pastoral needs, and building confidence to help them progress toward their aspirational goals.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience supporting vulnerable young people or students with SEND within a school, college, or alternative provision.
  • Relevant qualifications in learning support, education, or a related discipline (Level 2 or above in English and maths is essential).
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and patience skills, with a proactive and adaptable approach.
  • Available to start immediately on a full-time or flexible part-time basis.
