We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated ESOL Lecturer to join a college in St Albans, starting as soon as possible.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced ESOL teacher or lecturer who is passionate about supporting learners from a wide range of backgrounds to develop their English language skills and achieve their educational and career goals.
The role is initially long-term and ongoing, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The Role
As an ESOL Lecturer, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging ESOL lessons to learners of varying abilities.
- Develop students' speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
- Support learners with grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and communication.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs.
- Create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Encourage students to build confidence using English in everyday, educational and workplace settings.
- Support learners working towards relevant qualifications and assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and achievement.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience teaching ESOL or English to non-native speakers in a UK College setting
- Has strong knowledge of English language teaching and learning.
- Is confident working with learners from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
- Can plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons.
- Has excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Is patient, approachable and passionate about helping learners succeed.
- Can work effectively as part of a wider college team.
Relevant teaching qualifications and Further Education/college experience would be highly desirable.
