School Receptionist/Administrator
Choice Teachers are currently recruiting for a School Receptionist / Administrator to join a secondary school on a temporary basis, providing cover for a permanent member of staff who is on long-term absence.
This is an ongoing, week-to-week temporary position, offering an immediate start for the right candidate.
As the first point of contact for the school, you will provide a welcoming, professional and efficient reception service, while supporting the wider administration team with the day-to-day running of the school office.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Welcoming pupils, parents, visitors and staff to the school
- Answering and directing telephone calls and enquiries
- Managing the school reception and maintaining a professional front-of-house service
- Handling emails and general correspondence
- Supporting with attendance and pupil administration
- Maintaining accurate records and updating school systems
- Assisting with general administrative duties as required
- Liaising with parents, staff and external visitors
- Following school safeguarding and confidentiality procedures
- Providing general support to the school office team
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working within a school, education or busy administrative/reception environment.
You will be:
- Friendly, approachable and professional
- Highly organised with good attention to detail
- Confident communicating with staff, parents and visitors
- Able to remain calm and professional in a busy school environment
- IT literate and comfortable using administrative systems
- Reliable, punctual and adaptable
- Experienced in handling confidential information appropriately
Requirements:
- DBS Certificate on the update service or be able to obtain one
- Two professional references
- Right to work in the UK.
- CV covering all dates (including any gaps in work/academic history) over the past 10 years
