The Role
- Preparing equipment, chemicals and materials for science lessons
- Setting up and clearing away practical experiments
- Supporting teaching staff with experiments and demonstrations
- Ensuring laboratories and preparation areas remain clean, safe and well organised
- Managing stock levels and assisting with the ordering of supplies
- Maintaining science equipment and reporting any faults
- Following laboratory health and safety procedures at all times
- Safely storing and disposing of chemicals and materials
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience as a Science Technician is desirable
- Experience working in a school or laboratory environment would be beneficial
- A relevant science qualification or strong scientific knowledge
- Good organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- An understanding of laboratory health and safety procedures
- A proactive, dependable and flexible approach
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
