Choice Teachers are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and inclusive secondary school in East London for a dedicated and compassionate PMLD Support Worker.

This rewarding role involves supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), helping them access education, develop independence, and achieve positive outcomes in a nurturing environment.

The school benefits from excellent transport links and is easily commutable from Stratford, Newham, Hackney, Barking, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, and surrounding East London areas.

The Role

As a PMLD Support Worker, you will

  • Support students aged 11-19 with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support within the classroom.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility needs where required.
  • Encourage communication, sensory engagement, and social development.
  • Support learning activities tailored to individual student needs.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other SEN professionals.
  • Help create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

We are looking for individuals who

  • Have experience working with SEND, PMLD, autism, complex needs, or learning disabilities.
  • Are patient, caring, and empathetic.
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
  • Can build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Are comfortable providing personal care where required.
  • Have previous experience in education, healthcare, care work, support work, youth work, or similar settings (desirable but not essential).
