Deputy Manager - After School Club
Waltham Cross | Monday-Friday, 3pm-6pm
We are looking for a confident and experienced Deputy Manager to join our friendly after school club.
This is a hands-on childcare role, similar to a Playworker position, but with the added responsibility of leading and managing the session and delegating duties to the team.
The successful candidate must have:
Minimum Level 2 Childcare qualification
At least 2 years' relevant childcare experience
Experience in an after school club, nursery, pre-school or similar setting
Confidence in delegating tasks and managing staff during a session
Good communication and organisational skills
A positive, enthusiastic approach to working with children
A good understanding of safeguarding and child welfare
Key responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the smooth running of the 3pm-6pm session
Supervise and engage with children through play and activities
Delegate duties and support the staff team
Help maintain a safe, fun and welcoming environment
Support with behaviour management, snacks and daily routines
Work closely with the Manager and communicate any concerns
After school club experience is desirable, but relevant experience in a nursery or pre-school will also be considered.
