Location: Hitchin, Hertfordshire

Start Date: After October Half Term

Contract: Full-time

Salary: £34,069 - £46,940 per annum (Main Pay Scale, depending on experience)

Choice Teachers are currently recruiting for a Year 2 Class Teacher to join a welcoming school based in Hitchin starting after the October half-term break.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher who enjoys working with Key Stage 1 children and is passionate about creating a positive, engaging classroom environment during a key phase of learning.

The Role

• Teach a Year 2 class across the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate, and well-structured lessons.
• Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching where appropriate.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the wider life of the school community.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Has experience teaching within KS1, ideally Year 2.
• Has a strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and assessment standards.
• Is confident with classroom management and creating an inspiring learning environment.
• Is enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to supporting pupils to achieve their potential.
• Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with staff and parents.
