Choice Teachers are currently working with an independent preparatory school in Hampstead who are seeking an experienced and inspiring Head of Reception, EYFS Lead Teacher, or Early Years Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Reception Teacher or Early Years Leader to lead a vibrant Reception Department and shape the first stage of pupils’ educational journeys within a supportive and high-achieving school environment.
The successful candidate will combine leadership responsibilities with a full Reception class teaching timetable, modelling outstanding EYFS teaching practice while supporting and developing colleagues across the Early Years department.
About the Role – Head of Reception / EYFS Lead
- Lead the Reception Department and support the wider Early Years team
- Deliver engaging and creative lessons within the EYFS curriculum
- Create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for Reception pupils
- Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
- Monitor pupil progress and maintain high expectations across Early Years
- Model outstanding classroom practice and contribute to curriculum development
- Work closely with parents, staff and senior leaders
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Have strong experience teaching within EYFS / Reception
- Have leadership experience or be ready to step into an EYFS leadership role
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework
- Be passionate about Early Years education and child development
- Have strong communication, organisation and leadership skills
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
