Choice Teachers are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of one of our valued clients, a welcoming and supportive school located near Buntingford. The school is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join their friendly and dynamic team, supporting children to reach their full potential. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference by supporting an individual pupil within both the classroom and wider school environment. This is a fixed-term opportunity until July 2027 with the possibility of a permanent offer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with a diagnosis of Autism, both during lessons and unstructured times such as break and lunchtime.
  • Support the pupil in accessing learning through adapted resources, visual aids and scaffolded activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCo to implement personalised support strategies and learning targets.
  • Encourage and support the development of social communication, independence and emotional regulation skills.
  • Maintain accurate and clear records of pupil progress, supporting effective communication with school staff and parents.
  • Contribute to creating an inclusive, nurturing and supportive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have experience supporting children with Autism or additional learning needs.
  • Be able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Be calm, flexible and proactive in their approach.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, whilst also demonstrating initiative and independence.
  • Be passionate about inclusive education and supporting pupils with SEND.

There may be an opportunity to extend working hours on Mondays and Fridays to support the school's wraparound care provision.
