Choice Teachers are recruiting a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Maths Teacher for a temporary position at a secondary school in Bolton.
Please note: a degree in Mathematics and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) are essential requirements for this position.
Due to the school's specific requirements, applicants must hold both a Maths degree and QTS to be considered. A PGCE is also highly desirable.
The role will involve:
- Planning and delivering engaging Maths lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Teaching a range of topics from the secondary Maths curriculum
- Preparing pupils for assessments and GCSE examinations
- Assessing progress and providing constructive feedback
- Adapting lessons to meet different learning needs and abilities
- Maintaining positive behaviour and a productive learning environment
- Working closely with the school's Maths department
- Following all safeguarding and school policies
The successful Maths Teacher must:
- Hold a degree specifically in Mathematics - essential
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
- Ideally hold a PGCE
- Have strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Maths curriculum
- Have experience teaching Maths within a UK secondary school
- Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour-management skills
- Be organised, reliable and confident in the classroom
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
